Reynolds Rent A Car LLC – Rental Addendum
IMPORTANT: By renting a vehicle (“Rental Vehicle”) from Reynolds Rent A Car LLC (“Reynolds Rent A Car,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through the HyreCar or Getaround platform (the “Platform”), you (“you” or “your”) acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions (“Addendum”). These terms supplement the Platform’s own rental agreement and do not supersede it. In the event of a conflict between this Addendum and the Platform’s rental agreement or policies, the Platform’s terms shall control only to the extent of that conflict.
1. Definitions
“You” or “Your”
Refers to the individual, organization, or entity renting the Rental Vehicle under this Addendum, including anyone you direct or allow to use the Rental Vehicle, and anyone who is liable for charges under this Addendum.“We,” “Us,” “Our,” “Reynolds Rent A Car”
Refers to Reynolds Rent A Car LLC, its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, employees, successors, and assigns, as well as any person or organization acting on our behalf in relation to this rental.“Platform”
Refers to HyreCar, Getaround, or any successor platform (including subsidiaries, affiliates, agents, employees, successors, and assigns) that facilitates the rental of the Rental Vehicle.
2. Communication
Primary Method
Unless otherwise specified in writing, all communications must occur via the Platform’s chat system.
You are responsible for regularly refreshing the chat system to view updates.
Response Time & Emergencies
If you require urgent assistance and cannot reach us in a reasonable time, contact the Platform’s customer support.
We may terminate or refuse to extend your rental if you fail to respond to our communications in the Platform’s chat system.
Excessive or Harassing Communications
Repeatedly contacting us within short intervals without new information may be deemed harassing or annoying.
Such behavior may result in early termination of your rental or refusal of renewal.
3. Vehicle Repairs
Repair Authorization & Responsibility
You must ensure that all necessary repairs and maintenance are performed at Pep Boys, unless you have our prior written authorization to use a different facility.
We will not reimburse you for repairs performed by anyone other than Pep Boys without our prior written consent.
Payment of Normal Wear and Tear
We cover repairs arising from normal wear and tear.
Where our authorization is required (e.g., over-the-phone approval with Pep Boys), you must give us sufficient notice; we do not guarantee availability even during our standard hours (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, excluding holidays).
Excepting weekends and holidays, you must provide at least 24 hours’ notice before any scheduled repair or maintenance appointments (holidays and weekends do not count toward the 24-hour timeframe).
Extended Repair Times & Liability
If repairs take longer than expected, you may submit a request to us or the Platform for a refund of relevant rental charges; however, we are not liable for lost wages, income, or other indirect losses due to downtime.
You are responsible for timely repairs and any safety issues arising from inadequate or delayed maintenance.
We are not responsible for any loss of use, loss of income, or any other harm to you or any other party due to any repairs or inoperability of the Rental Vehicle.
Tires & Damage
We cover only normal wear and tear on tires. All other tire-related damage or towing expenses are your responsibility.
If you do not complete required repairs or fail to return the Rental Vehicle for repairs, you assume liability for any resulting damage.
Abusive, reckless, or other driving that results in faster-than-normal tire wear is your responsibility, as are any damages arising therefrom.

4. Vehicle Cleanliness
Condition Upon Return
The Rental Vehicle must be returned free of trash, excessive dirt, stains, and strong odors, suitable for immediate re-rental.
Failing to meet these standards may result in cleaning fees typically ranging from $20 to $250, but may be higher depending on severity.
Cleaning Labor Charges
Any cleaning will be charged at our current labor rate (minimum one hour) in addition to the cost of any third-party cleaning services used during that time.
5. No Smoking/Vaping/Marijuana
Smoking Prohibition
No smoking, vaping, or marijuana use is permitted in the Rental Vehicle.
The Rental Vehicle must not be returned with any odor or evidence of such use.
Consequences
You will be billed at the daily rental rate for as long as odors persist, preventing us from re-renting the Vehicle.
Our Daily Storage Fee may be charged to you during that time as well.
You must reimburse us for all costs and losses (including potential loss of use) resulting from a violation, even if those costs exceed the Vehicle’s original value.
6. Fuel Policy
Required Fuel Level
You must return the Rental Vehicle with the same level of fuel or charge as at the start of your rental.
No credit is given if you return it with more fuel than you received.
Refueling Charges
If you return the Rental Vehicle with less fuel, you will be charged for the fuel difference plus a minimum of one hour’s labor at our current labor rate.
7. Payments
Prepayment Requirement
All rental payments must be made in advance of the rental period. You remain responsible for timely payment even if your standard payment method fails.
Late or Non-Payment
Retaining the Rental Vehicle for 72 hours or more without payment may be deemed embezzlement or theft.
If you cannot afford the Rental Vehicle or experience payment issues, you must return it promptly or coordinate a return with us or the Platform.
Return Upon Request
If we or the Platform direct you to return the Rental Vehicle, you must comply immediately.
Prepaid days may be refunded for unused portions, less any damages or debts you owe.
Reacquisition & Recovery
If we must recover the Rental Vehicle ourselves, you will be billed for all related expenses plus at least one hour’s labor at our current rate.
If you are five (5) days late on payments, we may report the Rental Vehicle as stolen or embezzled without further notice.
8. Returning the Rental Vehicle
Usability Upon Return
If the Rental Vehicle is returned in a physically or legally unusable condition, you may be charged for loss of use and other related expenses.
Location & Scheduling
Unless otherwise specified, the Rental Vehicle must be returned to a location in the Temecula/Murrieta/Wildomar area or another location we designate. We will generally designate a location within 10 miles of the original pickup location unless the original pickup was under unique or unusual circumstances.
Standard return times are 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday (excluding holidays).
We require at least 24 hours’ advance notice before returning the Vehicle (holidays and weekends do not count toward the 24 hour timeframe).
Platform Coordination
If you cannot reach us and must abruptly return the Rental Vehicle, contact the Platform’s support for instructions.
9. Accidents
Damage Liability
You are responsible for all damages to the Rental Vehicle. If applicable insurance applies, you must promptly provide us with all relevant claim information.
No Concealment
Concealing or misrepresenting damage or accidents may result in additional fees or charges.
10. Authorized Drivers Only
No Additional Drivers
Only you, the renter approved by the Platform, may operate the Rental Vehicle.
No other drivers are permitted unless explicitly authorized in writing by the Platform.
Unauthorized Use
If we discover an unauthorized driver operating the Rental Vehicle, we may report it as stolen to law enforcement immediately.
11. Fees
In the normal course of a rental, we do not expect to bill you for anything beyond the agreed rental price. However, if we must address additional matters that are your responsibility or fault, we will charge fees as outlined below. These fees are intended to compensate us for extra costs, not to penalize you. Where indicated, certain fees serve as “liquidated damages,” reflecting our reasonable estimate of losses that are difficult to measure precisely. All these fees are in addition to one another and to any charges the Platform may assess.
Vehicle Reacquisition Fee
$30/day once you are 72+ hours behind on rental payments and fail to return the Rental Vehicle. This covers our administrative expenses in recovering the vehicle.
Late Fee
Up to $5 for each day you are 24 hours or more behind on payments. This fee is not charged during the normal rental period and does not affect whether you are up to date on payments.
Invoicing Fee
$30 for each invoice we must create due to unpaid debts or overdue payments, covering administrative expenses.
Collection Costs
Additional fees may apply for any third-party collection agency or our expenses in collecting unpaid debts, including attorneys’ fees.
Replacement Key Fee
$500 if the key/key fob is lost, damaged, or not returned (e.g., repossession occurs without obtaining the key/fob). This covers key cutting, programming, labeling, and labor.
Miscellaneous Time Fee
$60/hour for administrative work beyond normal rental operations not otherwise priced, billed in one-hour increments.
Oil Change Over-Mileage Fee (Liquidated Damages)
$0.25 per mile if you exceed the required oil-change interval without ensuring a proper oil change. Because exact engine wear is difficult to measure, this fee represents our reasonable estimate of harm.
Most of our Rental Vehicles will display a dashboard notification when an oil change is due. This must not be ignored. The default interval is every 10,000 miles.
Vehicle Inspection Fee
$180 if we determine, in good faith, that your negligence or recklessness warrants a thorough mechanical inspection.
Tolls/Citations/Legal Violations Fee
$60 per instance plus the actual cost of any toll, citation, or penalty. This covers our administrative time.
Loss of Use
We may charge you our highest applicable daily rate if the Rental Vehicle becomes unrentable or inoperable due to your actions or negligence. This shall be done at the highest rate during the course of the rental and shall continue until the vehicle is able to be used again or until we receive final payment for the value of the vehicle.
Demand Letter Fee
$120 if your rental is five (5) or more days overdue and we must send a formal demand letter (via certified mail with return receipt).
Car Pickup / Recovery Fee
$120 minimum if we must recover or pick up the Vehicle from a location not designated by us. If retrieval exceeds two hours, we may also charge the Miscellaneous Time Fee.
Vehicle Storage Fee
$250/day if the Vehicle is ineligible to be rented or returned to service due to your actions or negligence (damage, inoperability, pending total loss, etc.). This covers space, security, and administration until the Vehicle is repaired, declared a total loss, or rent-ready.
Other Fees
If your actions cause expenses not specified above, we may charge you our actual costs or a reasonable estimate thereof. This list is not exhaustive due to the variety of possible circumstances.
12. General Terms
Compliance & Clarifications
You must comply with all terms in this Addendum and the Platform’s agreement.
You may not create new terms or reinterpret these contrary to their plain language.
If you have questions or concerns, you must contact us or the Platform for clarification.
Non-Payment & Legal Action
Failure to pay outstanding charges (e.g., damages, deductibles, cleaning) may result in legal action, credit bureau reporting, and referral to collections, plus up to 20% annual interest.
Tolls & Citations
You are fully responsible for any tolls, fines, or citations incurred during your rental.
If we must intervene, you will be charged for our time and expenses.
Repossession & Hardship
We may repossess the Rental Vehicle if payments are overdue by more than 72 hours, without liability for inconveniences or losses you may incur.
We may refuse any rental extension at our sole discretion and may end your rental early, issuing a prorated refund if you do not otherwise owe us.
Abandoned Items
Any personal items left in the Rental Vehicle after its return or repossession may become our property at our discretion.
You have 30 days to inform us if you want such items returned; all shipping or handling expenses will be billed to you.
Five-Year Applicability
This Addendum applies to any and all rentals begun within five (5) years of your agreement to these terms.
GPS & Telematics
The Rental Vehicle may have GPS or telematics devices for insurance, maintenance, or business purposes. We do not sell your data.
We may use such data if there is an accident, damage, or non-payment, or to locate/recover the Rental Vehicle or substantiate claims.
Data Privacy in On-Board Systems
If you connect a personal device to the Rental Vehicle, you must delete your personal data before returning the Vehicle.
Acknowledgment
If you disagree with any part of this Addendum, do not commence the rental. Alternatively, you may discuss alternate terms prior to beginning your rental.
Data Privacy Laws
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We will use your data and any GPS/Telematics data strictly for legitimate business purposes or in compliance with law enforcement requirements.
